When it comes to organising your gear for a trip, one of the last items hurriedly tossed in your box is quality accessory tackle. We’ve all been there. Too busy stressing about how many lures you can take just in case’ and opting for a rusty pair of busted braid scissors and an old set of pointy nose plyers from the early 1970’s.

Not to fear, Cuda® has been producing quality tools for decades and the following tools are just a small sample of their extensive range to bring all your tackle, not just your lure collection, into the 21st century. All tools are equipped with oversized Cuda® scale pattern grips, which are comfortable and reduce slippage especially when operating in wet conditions.

Cuda® 3″ Micro Scissors

These slick little scissors feature titanium bonded blades that cut both braid and mono for years, while still staying sharp as a well tailored suit. They also sport dual micro-serrations, allowing for superior precision when finish off knots. This is especially important when you are trimming the tag on your leader knot so it sails through the guides like Australia II in the 1983 America’s Cup.

They are the perfect size and shape for all precision cutting from 3lb horse hair monofilament to the 60lb cod cord spooled on most of our baitcasters..

Cuda® 7″ Titanium Bonded Ring Splitter

The perfect all-rounder, these bad boys can cut line and wire as well as serve their obvious purpose as split ring plyers. Also featuring non-slip Cuda® scale pattern grips the Titanium Bonded Ring Splitter have become an absolute essential in my bag, especially in the Hobie (along with retractable tether) as they cover so many bases.

Although not the longest set of plyers at 7”, there is plenty of length when space is precious or your trying to keep the overall weight of you pack to a minimum.

Cuda® Grip & Scale – Fish Scale

With the ability to both grip and weigh your fish, the Cuda® Grip and Scale again covers a number of bases in one slick accessory. The thin aluminum alloy pincers are great on both smaller fish like bass and yellowbelly, yet super strong for bigger fish when a net is not on hand.

Throw in the fact this fish grip/scale comes with a purpose built lanyard and you see why they are the perfect Hobie accessory to keep you fingers free of stray trebles.

A word of warning though, don’t be tempted to grip a big fish like a Murray cod by the jaw and hold it vertically to weight it. This puts an unmitigated amount of stress on the fish’s jaw that can cause irreversible damage. If you do want to weight your catch, simply weigh it in a net and just subtract the weight of the net from the overall total.

All Cuda tools come with a lifetime warranty, so if you are still using your grandpa’s pre-war pliers, sacrifice a lure or two on your next visit to the tackle shop and get a grip – you wont be disappointed!
